ROLL CALL OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN THROWN TO THEIR KNEES BY FLORENCE & THE MACHINE'S
LUNGS - WHO IS WITH ME (actually if there is a person not with me I suspect you of being a robot - wtf mate, re-examine your heart).
It is so stunning, holy god. And it's like, vaulting pop music into the stratosphere; she just pushed the bubble close to bursting and now everyone else has to catch up. This is a public post or else I'd be linking lickity split.
I'm obsessed with OC stuff right now, you may have guessed from my string of disabled comment shouty rants and screen cap posts. I need to get everything all squared away with this before the 15th, hopefully I can make it (though it's not like I have a choice regarding my emotions, Half Blood Prince waits for NO HEARTS!, I will be right with you).
I just rewatched Adam's thing
In The Land Of Women, which I remember as being not so great, but I liked it more this time. I think because I relate to Carter even more now. I hate to be the person who's all ~I AM this character~, but dude...that is the closest we're going to get, I think.
It seems like Adam's gift and his curse is his voice; the cadence he can't shake and that (YES I WORSHIP ADAM BRODY, ASSIMILATE:) gloriousohmygodMIRACULOUS shaky and scratchy pitch. It is a character unto itself, and so I think for people like me who have a Seth Cohen shaped TV past, it will always be a struggle - no matter how good his other performances are - to reconcile his various characters with the sound of him and really ~move on~. It's probably pretty easy to trace Seth Cohen over Carter Webb, just because if you want, you can isolate the voice and use the way he curls himself downward and widens his eyes to keep him the same, in this movie and always. I was doing this in the beginning, and like, sitting there waiting for him to do Seth stuff, but then I started really looking at the guy and thinking about how Meg Ryan's character described him as "a sweet kid" and "heartsick" and DUDE, Carter is so earnest (without being precious) and quiet and calm and Adam slips into that so welllllllllll ohmygod. It's still kind of a weird movie and it feels oddly brief, like it never really starts, yet I think there's something there, even if it's just about how to stop feeling lost.
Anyway I may have mentioned this before but this movie is extremely memorable to me for its super uplifting "everything is going to be okay" final scene - due to it, my ultimate co-star fantasy is for Adam Brody and Ginnifer Goodwin to make a romantic comedy together. I picspammed the scene, dear lord look at the delightful chemistry. Oh and there was this:
That makes no sense if you haven't seen the movie but Adam's character Carter is dumped in the opening scene by his famous actress girlfriend, and then later in the movie there is this rumor that she's with Colin Farell now, and Carter is a writer and in this one scene he's just like...rambling typing, and that comes out, but I replaced the actor, because Adam Brody >>>>>>>>> The New Boyfriend. ANYWAY:
( also there are random caps of Adam wearing glasses/in the rain )We have a lot more to do, friends, I am compiling the picspams now, let us hope they get completed seeing as I feel it is time to return to the glorious land of 2005, where co-stars frolicked in glee AND NEVER BROKE UP IN ORDER TO BE WITH SEEMINGLY SUPER BORING CANADIAN STAR WARS ACTORS.
